Description
We are seeking three (3) experienced FOIA Specialists to support the Executive Office of the President — specifically the Council on Environmental Quality. This is a high-impact federal opportunity supporting Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) operations, including work tied to policy, interagency coordination, and litigation support.

- Review and process FOIA requests and administrative appeals
- Communicate with requesters and manage deadlines
- Conduct document searches across electronic and physical records
- Apply responsiveness determinations and metadata coding
- Perform line-by-line review of records
- Apply FOIA exemptions (especially Exemptions 5 & 6)
- Redact documents using tools like Adobe Acrobat
- Prepare release packages for disclosure
- Assist in FOIA-related litigation support
- Prepare Vaughn indexes and administrative records
- Support DOJ coordination and document productions
- Draft supporting materials (declarations, briefs, reports)
- Maintain FOIA tracking systems
- Support quarterly and annual FOIA reporting
- Ensure accurate documentation and audit readiness
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution
- Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Minimum 2+ years of federal FOIA experience
- Experience with interagency FOIA coordination
- Strong knowledge of FOIA exemptions and legal standards
- Experience with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Nuix Discover)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and document review systems
- Experience supporting the Executive Office of the President (EOP)
- FOIA litigation support experience
- Quality control review of FOIA productions
- Work performed primarily on-site in Washington, DC
- Eligibility for Tier 5 (Top Secret-equivalent) background investigation required
- Ability to obtain and maintain national security eligibility
